Bournemouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic admits a definitive decision over his future is yet to be made.
The £10million Cherries keeper, 32, was dropped during the latter half of last season – fuelling speculation he is no longer required on the south coast.
However, despite admitting his position at the Vitality Stadium is up in the air, Begovic has vowed to fight for the number one spot as long as he is there.
The ex-Chelsea stopper said: “I'll be reporting back with the priority to prove to the boss I'm there to compete for the shirt against Sheffield United on the opening weekend.
“We have no issues with each other. I respect the manager and his decisions. I'm happy at Bournemouth. I have three years left on my contract and haven't been told officially I'm surplus to requirements.
“But, of course, at this stage of my career I do want to be playing as many games as possible."
