Bournemouth have signed Southampton goalkeeper Artur Boruc on-loan.
Boruc, 34, has been keen to leave ever since being displaced by £10m summer signing Fraser Forster, in order to gain first-team football.
Cherries manager Eddie Howe told the Bournemouth Echo: "We have good competition for places in every other position and I wanted to increase it in the goalkeeping department.
"I am a firm believer that you always get the best out of people when they are pushing one another.
"Artur is a presence and has a great deal of experience behind him, both at club and international level.
"He was Southampton's first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League last season, he kept a number of clean sheets and performed very well.
"He is good on crosses, a very good shot-stopper and comfortable with his feet. I think we are getting a very good goalkeeper and someone who has been there at the very highest level.
"I have every confidence he will prove to be a good signing for us."
