Bournemouth boss Howe: Every Premier League club could change managers each season

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits there's little chance of long-term planning for managers in the Premier League.

Seven top-flight clubs have sacked their managers this season.

Howe told the Daily Echo: "It tells you there is a big desire to change. If things aren't going well, the days when people will show patience and give a manager time to turn it round have gone.

"There is a host of reasons for that. There is an instant need to change and that is always seen as better.

"It doesn't always work out that way. There as clubs you look at who have benefited from a change and clubs who haven't benefited from a change. That's one of the mysteries of football.

"When you look at trends and see how things are developing, there could possibly be a season where every club changes.

"I don't know where that leaves managers and I don't know where that puts the profession because it makes it very short term.

"There's no long-term planning for the manager, it's about next week or next month, which I don't necessarily think is good for the structure of a club in the long term.

"I think the best-run clubs have a plan beyond the immediate time."
