Borussia Dortmund winger Jakub Blaszczykowski has revealed he turned down an offer from Manchester City.

The Poland international admits City met the buyout clause in his previous contract, but he chose to stay with the Champions League finalists.

"Dortmund had simply an advantage over Manchester City. We have a great squad, great coaches, incredible fans and a very bright future ahead of us," he told Przeglad Sportowy.

"In Dortmund I have my family and everything we need."
