Borussia Dortmund are launching a bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

BILD says Benzema would move to Dortmund in exchange for Ilkay Gündogan, who would reinforce Real's midfield.

Real president Florentino Pérez is driving the deal.

It is said last season he proposed a similar exchange: Benzema for Roberto Lewandowski. In the end, it was Bayern Munich who snapped the Polish player.
