Borussia Dortmund are eyeing Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Mirror says Ozil is now in the final year of his contract.

Bundesliga side Borussia ­Dortmund have collected £130m from the sale of Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona.

They are prepared to spend a wedge of it on Ozil, who grew up in the area and who for two years played for local rivals Schalke.

Wenger is ­optimistic that Ozil will sign an extension but Dortmund need a playmaker after the loss of Dembele.
