Bolton's O'Brien raps Newcastle fans: They're always chipping at defence

Bolton Wanderers defender Andy O'Brien still has grudge against the way Newcastle fans "chip away" at the performances of their defenders.

"I'm proud I managed to stay there for four and a half years because it's difficult place to play," admitted the Irish international.

"They always seem to be chipping away at the defence. But football is about opinions and I'm looking forward to going back."

Despite all the managerial comings and goings on Tyneside 'Rash' played under just two bosses, Bobby Robson and Graeme Souness.

"I look back on my time and people complain about the defence.

"But one season I was there I seem to remember we had the second best home record," recalled the 28-year-old Yorkshireman. Under Bobby Robson we finished third, fourth and fifth - three of the most successful seasons they have had for a long time."
