Bolton skipper Davies feels England career now over

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies believes his international career could be over.

The 34 year-old was overlooked for England's two games last week.

The Wanderers skipper, who travels to Birmingham today, told The Sun: "It looks like those 20 minutes might be it for me.

"Baldini rang before the France game and I respected that because I've been in long squads before and sat around wondering.

"He said I wouldn't feature but I'd be involved in the next qualifiers. I heard from him and a few others that Capello was impressed with what I did but I didn't get the call.

"I'm extremely proud but one cap feels a bit like a gesture really.

"It would have been nice to get a few more."
