Bolton Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies feels ready to take Wigan Athletic head on.
Davies admits the fall-out from his tackle on Manchester United's Tom Cleverley in September could have been a factor.
"It's possible," he told the Bolton News. "I still haven't seen it back. I have got to look for the answer myself.
"I always judge my own performances. For whatever reasons I don't think I played particularly well for two or three games.
"I deservedly found myself out of the side. My place hasn't really been under threat before.
"I had played more than 100 games consecutively. But we have a challenge now right throughout the side and I only have myself to blame. It's a new challenge for me to get in the side.
"For me now, it's about doing all the right things to make sure I am selected on Saturday."
