Bolton Wanderers winger Chung Yong-lee is out for nine months after breaking his leg against Newport yesterday.
The 23-year-old South Korea international underwent a successful operation after sustaining a double fracture of his lower right leg during Wanderers' 3-1 win in south Wales.
He was carried off on a stretcher midway through the first half following a rash challenge from Tom Miller.
The club posted a statement on their website on Saturday evening confirming he was recovering in hospital and was expected to be sidelined for the bulk of the 2011-12 campaign.
