Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is launching a £3 million bid for Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin.

The Daily Mail says Pompey's cash problems will ensure a string of departures this summer, and Bolton are the head of the queue for the 31-year-old former Manchester City centre-back.

Distin admitted: "A lot of things can happen in the coming months. We don't know what is going to happen.

"All I want to do is go away on holiday, relax and refresh my mind."
