Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill says England boss Fabio Capello has made a mistake not including Kevin Davies in his latest squad.

Both Wanderers players were in the provisional 28-man England squad announced by Capello but missed out when it was trimmed down to 23.

Cahill was amazed to see Emile Heskey and Carlton Cole drafted in ahead of striker Davies.

The defender said: "I'd much rather face Heskey than Davo. I have seen Kev bully a few top-class centre-halves this season."
