Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is chasing Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari for the January market.
The Mirror says the Zimbabwean international is surplus to requirements at Eastlands following Mark Hughes' splurge on strikers and could be available for around £1.5million.
Bolton could face competition for the former Portsmouth hitman and Wigan and West Ham are also believed to be keeping tabs on him.
