Bolton Wanderers will battle Birmingham City for South Africa striker Katlego Mphela.

The Birmingham Mail says the 25-year-old has declared his intention to quit the PSL, the South African top flight, for a move abroad and claimed that Blues are interested in bringing him to England.

Boss Alex McLeish is yet to publicly confirm his pursuit of the Mamelodi Sundowns attacker having already brought Serbia's Nikola Zigic to St Andrew's.
