Bolton boss: Vaz Te stays

Bolton Wanderers boss Sammy Lee has all but ruled out an exit from the Reebok Stadium for Portuguese striker Ricardo Vaz Te.

The 20-year-old has struggled to become a first-team regular during his four years with the Trotters, but Lee still has faith in the youngster, who has been linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion.

"We all know of the capabilities of Ricardo. He has immense talent," Lee told the Bolton Evening News.

"All we ask of him is to be positive and continue going forward and get at defenders - to give them nightmares. If he does that he will score plenty of goals.

"The challenge to us as coaching staff is to bring out the best in him. We know his potential, his strengths.

"He is an obvious talent, but it's up to us to give him the confidence that every player needs.

"His potential has to be realised, though. I'm not trying to put any pressure on him, we just need to give him the platform to showcase his obvious talents."
