Bolton boss predicts England future for loanee Wilshere

Owen Coyle is convinced he has been given an England international of the future to work with in Jack Wilshere. The Arsenal loanee turned in an eye-catching display in Bolton's 2-0 defeat at Manchester City, and Coyle feels it is only a matter of time before the 18-year-old is pulling on the Three Lions.

"We are always saying we want the best young English players playing, so they can play for their national team and represent their country well," said Coyle.

"In Jack Wilshere there is one for the future, no doubt a big future.

"He has such a fantastic level of composure, which all goes well, not just for us, but also for English football."

Although Wilshere tired towards the end of what was his first Premier League start, he had made a significant impact with his close control and ability to pick out team-mates in space.

"There was obviously a height difference with Vieira but he went into a tackle with him after two minutes and set his marker down," Coyle enthused.

"I was delighted with him. He covered every blade of grass and looked so accomplished on the ball.

"He is a gifted individual. He is clever, he is bright. He has a football brain."

Asking such a young player to be involved in a relegation fight might not be the way forward.

Coyle does not see it that way. He actually thinks Wilshere can bring a major of assurance to an undeniably hazardous situation.

"He didn't look fazed against City and we were needing points then, just as we will next week," he said.

"He is just a very good footballer who loves getting on the ball.

"He brings another facet to our play, which can only help us in the long run."
