Bolton boss Megson hopes streak can continue against Liverpool

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson admits their sudden upsurge in form could stall this week with a game against Liverpool.

"It's difficult to go on a run in the Premier League because at some point you are going to face one of the best teams in the world," Megson said after his 50th game in charge.

"Liverpool are one of those teams, as they showed last year when they gave us a good hiding in both games.

"We have to try and improve on that, but then our last two results can be a springboard. We at least face them with a bit of momentum. Against Hull we played with effort and honesty, which are the things that always impress me with this team.

"There were times when we passed the ball much better than we have done in the past, but then we still made basic errors. In saying that, we were down in the bottom three and there's a lot of pressure on the players to cope with that.

"But cope with it they did, we kept another clean sheet and we've had two results now which have pushed us up the table. It was a good day for us, but what we have to do now is get a result against one of those best teams in the world in Liverpool."
