Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson wants to see more English coaches working across Europe.
Megson said: "It's difficult for managers to get an opportunity nowadays, but whenever I go on a coaching course, the foreign lads are all capable of speaking another language.
"Maybe that makes it more difficult for English guys to think about working abroad, because not many of us have a second language.
"But when you look at the likes of Terry Venables, Howard Kendall, John Toshack and Bobby Robson, they have all been really successful in a foreign country.
"From what I have seen, English and British coaches are as good as any in the world, but it must be difficult for foreign clubs to appoint them if they arrive in a country without being able to communicate properly.
"Gianfranco Zola doesn't have that problem at West Ham because he has spent a lot of time in this country through his playing days at Chelsea."
