Max Clayton faces being priced out of a move to Bolton Wanderers.
Wanderers boss Dougie Freedman feels his side are far away from Crewe's valuation for Clayton.
"Max is training with us. We like him," Freedman told the club's official website.
"We're one of a few clubs far away from Crewe's valuation.
"Max has spoken about going abroad.
"I'm gutted about that because we really want to work with him."
Sunderland and Everton have also expressed interest in Clayton.
