The father of Atalanta winger Jeremie Boga has recalled watching Kylian Mbappe trial as a junior player with Chelsea.
Jeremie came through Chelsea's youth system before leaving for Sassuolo.
Daniel Boga recalled to The Athletic seeing PSG star Mbappe trialling at Cobham in 2011.
"At first I was talking to the dad, but then his mum came, and when that happened I realised she was in control of everything," said Boga. "She was the one talking to the club. The dad didn't talk anymore. He is very calm and relaxed. The mum is like fire: bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam!"
Jim Fraser, Chelsea's current development manager, explained at the time that he'd like to see Mbappé working off the ball and so Boga, as translator, explained this to his parents.
At that point, Boga himself points out, the mother became angry: "'We won't come back. Tell him. He won't come back. If they want to take him, they take him now. In 5 years you will come back for him and he will cost £50 million. Translate it to them!'.
"She had a lot of faith in him. She knew he was going to be successful."
