Boehly seeks Lampard talks about stunning Chelsea return

Chelsea owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital could turn to a shocking candidate as interim boss.

A new report from The Sun claims that club legend Frank Lampard may be tapped to help see out the season.

Lampard was fired by Roman Abramovich before the hiring of Thomas Tuchel, events which took place before Clearlake took over the club.

The source adds that co-owner Boehly may see Lampard as a figure who could unite the squad in the coming months.

The issue is that the former midfielder may not want to take on the job temporarily, as he waits for someone else to get the full time post for next season.

Lampard did lead the Blues into the Champions League in his full season in charge.
