Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly plans to move for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo in January.
The Mirror says Chelsea are ready to step up their interest in Ronaldo, should Man Utd terminate the Portuguese star's contract.
Blues owner Boehly are back in the hunt for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.
The report goes on to say that it leaves the Red Devils in a catch-22 situation.
Because, if they do sack Ronaldo - it means he then becomes a free agent and Chelsea could sign him on a free transfer.
