Blackpool have the chance to return to the Championship's play-off places with a derby success over Preston on Monday night. Leaders Newcastle and the Seasiders are the only side's in the division still unbeaten on their own turf.
"This is a game of football where the intensity of the tackles and the work-rate of both teams will go up a notch, but we just need to play with our heads and not our hearts," Holloway told the club's website.
"Preston are a side that have always been up and around the play-offs for as long as I can remember.
"We're not used to being up there in this division at the moment, so it's up to us to continue what we're doing and not get carried away with it.
"We currently have a great record at home this season that they could take from us and I don't want to relinquish it easily."
