Blackpool boss Ian Holloway remains keen on Portsmouth striker David Nugent.
Holloway had agreed a deal with Pompey to take Nugent on loan, with the cash-strapped south coast side even offering to foot the bill for half his £24,000-a-week wages.
The move fell through because Holloway could not get hold of the former England star to discuss terms.
Holloway said: "If the player hadn't gone missing we'd have had David Nugent.
"With 20 minutes to go we had Nugent signed on, but no-one could locate him, so he couldn't sign his contract and it all fell through."
