Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has welcomed the commitment of James Beattie.
Holloway paid tribute to on-loan Rangers striker Beattie for insisting on playing for the reserves on Monday, just 24 hours after his father died.
"James's reaction to what happened was quite unbelievable," said Holloway.
"He lost his dad on the Sunday and I told him to forget about the reserve game. But he wouldn't have it. He said, 'No, I'll be there.' Sure enough, he was.
"He was hurting, but you would never have known. I wouldn't if he hadn't told me. What about that for professionalism?
"He then played against Tottenham and laid on one of the best goals I have seen for a long time, with a perfect chip for DJ Campbell.
"I don't know whether we'll be able to hang on to him beyond this season, but I hope we can, because he is so much more than just a goalscorer. He is a fantastic player."
