Blackburn used private jet to trump Monaco for Formica signing coup

Blackburn Rovers owners laid on a private jet to push through their capture of Newell's Old Boys attacker Mauro Formica.

The People says Rovers owners Venky's - and agency partners Kentaro - flew their plane to France to snatch the 22-year-old Argie from AS Monaco's clutches.

Formica had been pictured in a Monaco strip and was training with his new team-mates when Blackburn suddenly came up with a better offer for him, his club Newell's Old Boys and his advisors.

So Formica met Rovers on a private runway near Monaco and was jetted in for his medical along with the Newell's president, who was in Europe to conclude the £3million move.
