Blackburn's Olsson delighted to get debut so early

Blackburn Rovers winger Marcus Olsson was thrilled to have made his debut for the club so soon after signing.

The 23-year old Swede joined from Halmstad on deadline day of the January transfer window and was able to make his Rovers bow in the weekend's 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.

Olsson admits it wasn't the greatest match to debut in but was pleased with his personal performance a nd is looking forward to getting more opportunities.

"I was aiming to get my debut before the end of the season at best," Olsson told Fotbolldirekt. "But on Friday, I got to know that I was in contention for the match against City.

"It felt okay during the match, but you expect to get substituted when you are the least experienced.

"It's too bad we lost, but I have got to be satisfied with my own display.

"It feels great. I know now where I will be the next few years and that they will give me the chance."
