Blackburn Rovers' Emerton confident Sydney FC's Carle will bounce back

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Brett Emerton is confident Sydney FC recruit Nick Carle can bounce back from his World Cup disappointment.

Carle, who recently signed with the A-League champions from English club Crystal Palace, was cut from Pim Verbeek's Socceroos squad just days before the team left for South Africa but Emerton believes he is a good enough player and has a strong enough character to put that frustration behind him.

"Nick's always been a very talented player," said Emerton. "He's always had loads of ability and there was never any doubt in my mind that he'd go on and become a great player.

"He's done that and has matured a lot.

"It was a shame not to see him [Carle] involved in this World Cup," added Emerton. "But if he keeps going and continues to put in the hard work and dedication I think we'll see him in a Socceroos jersey a few more times yet."

Emerton and Blackburn are currently preparing for the Sydney Festival of Football which involves the Rovers, Sydney FC, Glasgow Rangers and AEK Athens and kicks off on Sunday July 25 at the Sydney Football Stadium.
