Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is keen to bring James Beattie back to Ewood Park.

The Sun says Big Sam is monitoring Beatts' situation at Stoke City after his amazing bust-up with manager Tony Pulis on Saturday.

Rovers are in the market for a new centre-forward as they prepare to lose Franco di Santo back to parent club Chelsea in January.

Allardyce has been following former Rovers striker Beattie since last January.
