Blackburn to miss out on Belgium midfielder Witsel

Blackburn have reportedly made a move for Standard Liege's Belgium international midfielder Axel Witsel, but look set to lose out on him to Benfica.

Rovers are understood to have been pursuing the highly-rated 22-year-old for a number of weeks.

But the Portuguese giants are now favourites to land the Witsel - rated as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.
