Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews says he'll blank the World Cup next summer.
Andrews was part of the Republic of Ireland team undone by Thierry Henry's hand-ball for France in their World Cup playoff.
"No I won't watch the World Cup, no," a philosophical Andrews told the Lancashire Telegraph. "It took the excitement out for me. A few of our lads will be involved and I'll be wishing them well and I'll be excited for them but no, I probably won't watch a game.
"I'll be on a beach somewhere enjoying my holidays. I've got my head around having eight weeks off now so there's always pros isn't there?
"The World Cup was never my priority though. It was always my club form. I always knew I wasn't going to be picked for my country if I wasn't producing for my club. We said at the start of the season that we had ambitions inside the club for where we wanted to finish - obviously higher than last season.
"So really that hasn't changed, we've managed to go on a decent cup run now as well which hopefully will bring us to the final. So yes, there's a lot to look forward to and the signs are positive."
