Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is chasing Panathinaikos striker Djibril Cisse.

The News of the World says Allardyce has made a £6.5million bid for the former Liverpool striker - famed for his colourful hairstyles.

The French forward, who spent last season on loan at Sunderland, scored an impressive 22 goals in 27 games for Panathinaikos this term.

But Cisse, 28, has a £12m buy-out clause on his contract with the Greek champions.

This means Big Sam will have to double his offer if he wants to land his man.
