Blackburn kids reach FA Youth Cup semifinals

Blackburn Rovers' youngsters have given fans some hope by reaching the FA Youth Cup semifinals.

Rovers are into the semi finals of the FA Youth Cup after a penalty shoot-out victory at Newcastle United tonight.

Michael Hoganson put the hosts ahead in the 20th minute but Ryan Edwards levelled with a header from Raheem Hanley's cross six minutes later.

Newcastle were back in front eight minutes after half time as Jonathan Hooper found the net, only for Rovers substitute Robbie Cotton to make it 2-2 with a deflected effort.

For the shootout, keeper Matty Urwin was the Rovers hero, saving two spot kicks as Rovers emphatically won the shoot-out 3-0.
