Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell remains a target for Premier League clubs.
The Mirror says Blackburn Rovers have joined Newcastle in the race to sign the versatile Ridgewell in the January transfer window.
Ridgewell was on his way to Newcastle in August before the deal fell through in the final days.
