Blackburn boss Ince patient on Jansen

Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince says there is no rush in getting forward Matt Jansen back on the pitch.

Jansen has not played competitive football for two and a half years after not recovering fully from a motorcycle accident in 2002 that gave him serious head injuries.

The 31-year old has been training at Ewood Park in a bid to resurrect his career but Ince does not want to put any pressure on the former Rovers star.

"Matt's done well," Ince said. "He's an intelligent footballer but has obviously had 18 months out. Now he's back, he seems hungry, he's fit, he didn't have any football injuries as such. It's going to be a slow process but he's getting there.

"We're giving him as much time as he wants. He doesn't need that pressure. At the moment, he's enjoying his football, he's enjoying working with the first team. We'll see how it goes."
