Blackburn boss Ince delighted with capture of Tottenham's Robinson

Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is delighted with his capture of Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

"Robbo is a fantastic goalkeeper," Ince told his club's website. "Obviously it is disappointing to lose Brad, we tried all we possibly could to try to keep him here financially, but it wasn't to be. I'm disappointed but at the same token we have to move on and we've replaced him with an outstanding goalkeeper in Paul Robinson.

"He's had his ups and downs at Tottenham and England, but at the end of the day he's an international goalkeeper, he's played for England forty-odd times, he's an England number one goalkeeper alongside David James.

"So it is a new start for him and I'm looking forward to working with him and hopefully he is one of many to come into Blackburn Rovers."

Ince added: "I've got to prove that I can manage in the Premier League, Robbie Fowler is here to prove people that he can score goals in the Premier League and Paul Robinson is no different.

"He's coming to a great bunch of lads, there are no bad eggs in this club which I've found out pretty quickly, and if there was they'd have gone by now, so he's coming to a great environment, the lads will help him and we are looking forward to see him on Tuesday."
