Nancy's Moroccan star Mickael Chretien is a target for Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce.
The People says Allardyce sent top spy Barry Whitbread to watch highly-rated 24-year-old defender Chretien in action yesterday and he could make a £3million offer this week.
Chretien has been on the Rovers radar for months and was checked during the summer by Paul Ince - with Allardyce happy to follow up the interest.
Chretien was born in France and played for their youth teams but he has switched his international allegiance to Morocco - the land of his father - where he is known as Mickael Basser.
The defender almost signed for a couple of Spanish clubs in the last window but stayed loyal to Nancy, where he has been since he was five.
