Garry O'Connor was delighted with his goal for Birmingham City in their 2-2 draw with Sunderland this week.

O'Connor said: "We've been working a lot on finishing - myself, the other strikers and our assistant manager Eric Black.

"That all came into play against Sunderland. The earlier you take a shot, the more the tendency for them to go in. The defender jumped in, so I took it inside and put it away with the outside of my left foot.

"I tried to hit it as early as possible so the keeper would give me a bigger angle.

"I've felt confident and sharp in training this week. I am sure I can score a lot of goals for Birmingham. That's my ambition."
