Birmingham City are being linked with Tottenham fullback Gareth Bale.

The Birmingham Mail says Brum may enter the race to sign Tottenham's Bale.

Blues' top defensive target at the moment is Armand Traore, the Arsenal defender, and Alex McLeish this week insisted a new left-back was a top priority for him now.

McLeish hopes to find out this weekend if he will be able to take Traore on loan.

If Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger decides to hold onto Traore, who was loaned to Portsmouth last season, McLeish could turn to Spurs' Bale.
