Birmingham pull out of deal for Tottenham's Ghaly

Birmingham City have pulled out of a deal for Tottenham midfielder Hossam Ghaly.

A £3m deal had been agreed with the Blues set to secure Ghaly on a three-year contract, subject to the player receiving a work permit.

The club would only say that they had pulled out for "footballing reasons".

However, a Spurs statement said: "We can confirm that Hossam Ghaly has decided not to proceed with his transfer to Birmingham City."

A statement from Birmingham said: "We can confirm we will not be proceeding with the transfer of Hossam Ghaly from Tottenham."
