Birmingham City are edging closer to signing Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli.

The Mirror says Birmingham are closing in on a £4.5million deal to sign the Italian striker Miccoli from Serie A side Palermo.

Palermo had initially been adamant that the 30-year-old was not for sale.

But Miccoli is keen to make the move and Palermo are now set to give the deal the green light.

Birmingham are ready to offer the diminutive Miccoli, who is 5ft 6ins tall, a lucrative three-year deal at St Andrew's.
