Sky recorded the recent reserves derby between Aston Villa and Birmingham City in 3D.

The Birmingham Mail says in preparation for the next generation of home entertainment, Sky Sports opted to use Thursday night's 3-3 draw between Blues and Villa at St Andrew's as a chance to give their brand new 3D television cameras a whirl.

The experiment involved just as many, if not more, members of their production team as you would get for a live Premier League fixture.

In fact, there was probably more people manning the hugely-expensive pieces of equipment than there was actually watching the game.
