Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton is West Bromwich Albion's No1 choice to succeed Roy Hodgson.
The Sun says given the exceptional job Houghton has done on a shoestring at Birmingham, it looks increasingly likely Albion chairman Jeremy Peace will try to lure him away.
Peace is unlikely to make an immediate approach with Birmingham preparing for their Championship play-off dates with Blackpool.
But it is understood Hughton, 53, will seek permission to speak to Albion once they make contact.
