Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has admitted regret missing out on Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
Boyd could have been leading the Blues attack if he'd agreed to a £3.5million switch to St Andrew's last January.
He rejected personal terms after the two clubs had agreed the fee.
McLeish is still disappointed the deal didn't go through, but is thrilled at Boyd's amazing achievements.
He told the Scottish Sun: "I don't know if I ever saw Kris breaking these records. There were times when you wondered if he'd still be at Rangers to break records.
"You wondered if he'd leave before he had the chance to create history. We spoke to him about coming here to Birmingham last year.
"So I'm not sure too many people foresaw him sticking around long enough to break records.
"But I'm delighted for him that he's done it and it's quite a feat."
