Birmingham boss Clark: Lingard future in Man Utd hands

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is unsure of their chances of keeping hold of Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.

United manager David Moyes has raised the prospect of recalling his loaned players to boost his squad, as well as make permanent transfer moves in the January window.

"United hold all the cards in regards Jesse," Clark told the Birmingham Mail.

"I have said it before that I would love the lad to stay here until the end of the season. We all would.

"That's something we have got to ask Manchester United and hopefully they would be receptive to it.

"He's doing well, he's progressing his career. Hopefully they can see that and will allow it.

"That's my side of it

"We are in constant dialogue with United.

"What I can safely say is that if the worst case scenario does happen and he doesn't stay with us, that's because Manchester United want him to go back to their club to be part of their plans this season."
