Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has admitted interest in Newcastle United outcast Hatem Ben Arfa.
Speaking after his side's 3-0 loss at Wigan he indicated that talks would be conducted between the clubs in private.
Clark said: "We will see. We will see if anything comes up that is different to what we have got. You never know.
"It goes a bit crazy in the next 24, 48 hours and something might drop that could be of interest to us."
Ben Arfa was in the stands for Newcastle's 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace.
Clark said: "He's obviously a Newcastle United player and there's a situation up there with him not being in the team.
"But I don't want to talk about any other teams' players. If anything was to happen we will let you know."
