Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce has warned his employers after they failed to sell-out St Andrews for Saturday's defeat by Manchester United.
Bruce's frustration at his side's unfortunate defeat was compounded by a crowd 2,000 fewer than at the home game with Bolton two weeks ago.
And the Brum boss admitted: "If we're not careful, we will take the game away from the people. People can't afford £45 for a ticket. Football needs to have a look at itself to make sure that we can give the game to the average man and not the prawn sandwich brigade.
"That needs to be understood. We'll have a full house against Wigan next week because the prices have been reduced. The board have seen that and it's what we have to do."
