Riccardo Bigon admits he wanted to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for Bologna.

The Georgia winger has been a revelation in his first season with Napoli, helping them to go clear at the top of the table.

Former Bologna sporting director Bigon told Radio Crc: "Kvaratskhelia? From a scouting point of view, he was a well-known player, we too had followed him at Bologna, but it was very difficult to get there from an economic point of view.

"Cristiano Giuntoli is very good, then in a reality like the Neapolitan one it is easier to throw yourself into some adventure.

"They had the courage to make this choice which is paying off."
