As a galaxy of stars took to the field at StubHub Center on Sunday, it was only ever LA Galaxy's game as they thrashed New York City FC 5-1 in MLS action.
The match had received considerable hype as the first face-off between former Premier League rivals Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, however Lampard was unable to feature due to a calf problem that had ruled him out in previous weeks.
Still, the game was not light on for stars, and it was the talent of Los Angeles that shone through.
Former Tottenham and Liverpool striker Robbie Keane struck twice, while ex-Barcelona and Spurs man Giovani Dos Santos, Gyasi Zardes and ex-West Ham United midfielder Sebastian Lletget were also on the scoresheet.
Spanish great David Villa pulled one back for the visitors in the 80th minute, but it was too little too late, as Galaxy reaffirmed their position at the top of the Western Conference with a mighty win.
