Besiktas midfielder Pjanic takes fresh swipe at Barcelona coach Koeman

Besiktas midfielder Miralem Pjanic has taken a fresh swipe at Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.

Pjanic was sent away on-loan to Besiktas by Barca last month after finding himself sidelined by Koeman.

"Perhaps the team needs a good leader to get going," said Pjanic. "(But) the Barça board will make the right decisions, Barcelona is one of the greatest and will return.

"I don't know yet what exactly Koeman wanted, he didn't try to explain things to me, or find a solution. I was the one who was going to ask him what he wanted from me, what was I doing wrong or right to find out, to adapt faster. In a season at the end you need 17-18 players to win titles. But for him there were no problems in my game, he didn't give me answers.

“My transfer process was not easy. Last year our coach made decisions that I couldn't understand much about. I was not very lucky, I think I could have played, but I needed a little more time. The decision of our coach was this way and I had to solve this problem. I had to find a club where I could play. I am a footballer who always wants to be on the field."

The midfielder added: “Barcelona are in a difficult situation, the results are not going as the fans wanted and the players are under pressure. Maybe the team needs a good leader to improve. Barça is one of the four or five great clubs in the world. It will go back to the old days, but it will take some time."
